In this series, we will walk through the second part of the gospel according to Mark (Mark 3:13-6:6), focussing on what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
In this first message, we see that following Jesus will likely result in facing opposition. Jesus was opposed by the religious leaders who called him a demon and suggested that he had an impure spirit. Jesus' own biological family also opposed him, thinking he was out of his mind. Yet, Jesus focused on his chosen family--people that walked with him through these challenges. These disciples were imperfect, but Jesus chose a diverse group to show how he is inclusive and accepting of everyone.
