In this series, we will examine the middle section of the gospel according to Mark (Mark 8:22-10:52), which focuses on the developing understanding of the followers of Jesus as his influence expands throughout the region.
In this second message, we travel with Jesus, Peter, James and John up the mountain. Jesus' disciples witness Jesus being transfigured, while in conversation with Moses and Elijah. We consider Peter's interest to remain there and worship, but Jesus' encouragement to go back down the mountain. We are to listen to the transfigured Christ so that we can be changed to be more like him.
