In this series, we will walk through the first part of the gospel according to Mark (Mark 1:16-3:12), focussing on the central question: Who is Jesus?
In this fourth message, we see Jesus as the friend of sinners. Building off of the previous story, Jesus embodies true friendship by accepting, socializing with, and calling Matthew and his friends to follow him. Jesus breaks from the caste structure of his day to model for us the value of welcoming everyone into the kingdom of God.
