Join us in-person at CrossRoads at 5:00 p.m. or on Patrick Wilson's FaceBook page at 8:00 p.m. for a time of Bible study and discussion. We will be going through a series based on John Michael Comer's book, Practicing the Way: Be with Jesus, Become Like Him, Do as He Did. Here is a brief overview of the book:
"IWe are constantly being formed by the world around us. To be formed by Jesus will require us to become his apprentice.
"To live by what the first Christian disciples called a Rule of Life—a set of practices and relational rhythms that slow us down and open up space in our daily lives for God to do what only God can do—transforms the deepest parts of us to become like him.
"This introduction to spiritual formation is full of John Mark Comer’s trademark mix of theological substance and cultural insight as well as practical wisdom on developing your own Rule of Life.
"These ancient practices have much to offer us. By learning to rearrange our days, we can follow the Way of Jesus. We can be with him. Become like him. And do as he did."
Reading the book is encouraged but not required to participate in the study. All are welcome to attend. During the in-person sessions, we will watch videos that go with each lesson. These videos are available online for those who want to watch them and participate remotely in the FaceBook LIVE study. They will not be shown in the abbreviated Bible study on FaceBook. If you cannot attend the FaceBook LIVE study at 8:00 p.m., you can watch at a later time during the week and fully participate in real time.
Come just as you are. We don't have all the answers, but we learn from each other as we reflect on God, faith, and life. We hope to see you there!
