Beginning on October 5th, Patrick Wilson will facilitate two small group opportunities on the first section of the book, Living the Questions: The Wisdom of Progressive Christianity, by David M. Felton and Jeff Procter-Murphy. The first group will meet in-person at CrossRoads on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. The second group will meet on Patrick's FaceBook page at 8:00 p.m. CrossRoads participants (on the church email distribution list) will receive the study guide which includes the chapter readings and discussion questions. If you are not on the email list, you can receive them by sharing your email address with Patrick. If you prefer, you can purchase the book directly online.

The video-based curicullium will guide us through wrestling with hard questions. In this seven-week, series, we will discuss:

  • An Invitation to Journey
  • Taking the Bible Seriously
  • Thinking Theologically
  • Stories of Creation
  • Lives of Jesus
  • A Passion for Christ: Paul
  • Out into the World: Challenges Facing Progressive Christians

Here is a brief overview of the book/study:

Pastors David Felten and Jeff Procter-Murphy, along with an all-star cast of Bible scholars and top church teachers, provide a primer to a church movement that encourages every Christian to "live the questions" instead of "forcing the answers." Based on the bestselling DVD course of the same name, Living the Questions: The Wisdom of Progressive Christianity includes commentary from such bestselling authors as Diana Butler Bass, John Shelby Spong, Marcus Borg, John Dominic Crossan, Brian McLaren, and others. Tackling issues of faith and controversial subjects such as the church's position on homosexuality, Living the Questions is the most comprehensive, indeed the only survey of progressive Christianity in existence today.
